The Adare golf course is part of the luxurious Adare Manor grounds. It was chosen to host the Ryder Cup 2027, this is no surprise as it is the number one Golf Course in Ireland. World-renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio assisted with the new improvements during it’s massive renovations. It re-opened again in 2017 following the multi-million euro investment by owner, JP McManus. The famous JP McManus Pro Am is scheduled to go ahead in 2022, if you include this as part of your vacation you will have an Irish golf trip of a lifetime!

Opened in 2002, it was considered an ideal location for the Golf links. Doonbeg Golf Club was purchased by Donald Trump in 2014 for an estimated €15 million. Trump’s aim was to turn Doonbeg into a “truly iconic” golfing resort. The Golf Course is a 72 par course that plays 9 in and 9 out. The speed and variation of wind in this open play can be the challenge that awaits here. This is definitely a course in which all clubs will be used! The talking point of this course is the 14th and a wedge is the only real choice here on this lovely par 3, if lucky with the wind direction it can be a shot of a lifetime to get to the green in one.

Nearby in Co. Clare are The Cliffs of Moher, they feature in many of our tours of Ireland and are considered as the ‘8th wonder of the world’ to many. The gigantic Cliffs of Moher are 702 feet tall and stretch over 8 kilometers along the Atlantic coast. There is a safe path that leads the way and on a fine day you can take in the breath-taking views of scenery near and far. It is the perfect view of the Southwest of Ireland. From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South. The Cliffs of Moher take their name from a ruined promontory fort “Mothar” which was demolished during the Napoleonic wars to make room for a signal tower. On site there is also a visitor centre with a cafe and shop, the centre hosts interesting artefacts and information on local history.
